In order to work correctly, you have to install the iPlayer operating system on the microSD memory card. OS installation is pretty straightforward as you only have to unzip on unrar the installation file directly on your microSD card. Scroll down this page to find the iPlayer software..

iPlayer firmware file 1.1 (DSi 1.4 firmware fix)

Important: Please follow the upcomming instructions carefully as the iPlayer must not be stopped when updating its firmware.

Make sure your DSi has firmware version 1.4 installed, insert your iPlayer in your DSi console and press A to start the iPlayer. You should now see a black screen with a warning: 'please refer to instruction manual etc..'

1. Download the firmware file above and unzip it
2. Insert the file update.dat on your microSD memory card
3. Insert the microSD card in your iPlayer then plug it in your DSi
4. Start the iPlayer like your would normally do

Now you should the the warning screen again:

An error has occurred
Press and hold the POWER
Button to turn the system off

DO NOT turn off the DSi YET, the iPlayer is now updating its firmware, you must wait 5 full minutes before completion. When the 5 minutes have passed you can turn off your DSi, the iPLayer should now be updated. Delete the file update.dat on your microSD card.
